The annual Holker Garden Festival is due to be held this weekend from the 3rd to the 5th June 2016.
The event is now in its 24th year and is hosted by the Cavendish family, and is set admidst the beautiful parkland setting of Holker Hall. There are going to be over 200 exhibitors ranging from arts and crafts, produce and garden essentials. Each year, the Holker Garden Festival showcases some of the very best of gardening and horticulture and 2016 will be no exception. Designers, nurseries, landscapers, businesses and gardening experts all come together to wow visitors with their innovative show gardens and unique outdoor spaces.
In addition, there is a whole host of family entertainment in the live, action packed arena. There are the amazing Horsemen of the Knight, in a daring Jousting Show featuring stunts, sword fights and fire! Or join in the fun of the relay race with the Blackrock Llama Display Team, and look out for the Little Nippers Terrier Racing Team as they embark upon obstacles and hurdles to the finish line.
For foodies, there will be a mouth watering selection of artisan food, drink and specialist local produce offer to tempt those taste buds, with plenty of areas to eat, drink and relax. Whilst in the area be sure to visit the medieval village of Cartmel, home of the famous Cartmel sticky toffee pudding, definately not to be missed! Cartmel also boasts a Priory as well as numerous artisan shops and pubs.
