We have had some lovely warm Summer evenings in the Lake District for the past couple of weeks. Here at the farm we are getting ready to clip the sheep, who are certainly feeling the heat at the moment, and spend most of the time in the shade of the trees, venturing out into the field in the evening. On the 24th and 25th June ‘Woolfest’is being held at the Lakeland Livestock Centre at Cockermouth.
Woolfest isn’t just about buying and selling – it’s a great day out to celebrate the best of wool. There are plenty of opportunities to take part in creative projects, find out more about a new craft skill at one of the demonstartions (or at the Friday evening Spin In), meet the makers and designers, learn about British wool and rare native breeds and share your enthusiasm for all things wool.
You can buy everything from raw fleece at the Fleece sale, to spinning wheels on the supplier stands as well as some of the best and most beautiful textile creations in the UK and beyond. You can find out more information at the website Woolfest 2016
