Our local Market Town Ulverston, is holding its Dickensian Festival this weekend, the festival attracts  thousands of people every year, to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of a traditional market town in the Dickensian era.  The Festival marks the start of the Christmas season, and brings a little Christmas magic to both young and old. The historic market town is full of fantastic shops, great pubs and cafes.  The Dickensian Festival boasts a huge variety of free entertainment, free events for children, fabulous Christmas market stalls with lots of unique gifts and festive food, costume competitions, horse drawn carriages, music and dancing.

The Lake Districts most renowned waterfall Aira Force near Ullswater, drops an impressive 65ft and is spectacular at this time of year.  Aira Force can be reached by an enchanting stroll through ancient woodland and landscaped glades.
