Winter can be a lovely time of year to blow off the cobwebs with some walking or cycling in the Lake District Fells. Thornthwaite Farm is also on the Lakes & Dales Cycling loop. The Lakes & Dales Loop allows people to get up close to Cumbria’s spectacular landscapes, beautiful villages, distinctive heritage and rich culture. Using quiet country lanes, the route takes in the quieter corners of the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Eden Valley, Morecambe Bay, and West Cumbria.
